Akira Tsuneki is Professor of Near Eastern Archaeology in the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Tsukuba, Japan. He has long been engaged in archaeological excavations in Syria, Iran and Iraq. Recent publications include A History of Syria in One Hundred Sites (editor, Archaeopress, 2016), and Ancient West Asian Civilization (editor, Springer, 2016).
